There has been some confusion about the mid-year laptop audit.
The mid-year audit was begun on January 7th, 2011. It started as a pilot with four homerooms and then expanded out to the remainder of the school.
With each update to the schedule the entire WHS staff was notified of the update and asked to pass along that information to their homeroom students. The assumption is that the students, therefore, should have had ample opportunity between 1/7/11 and 3/18/11 to be informed of this audit and that they MUST bring in their laptop AND charger to be inspected. The last email on this topic explicitly stated the deadline for audits AND that students who failed to turn in the laptops would have their laptops locked on them.
The core purpose of the audit was to verify the working condition of the laptop and the charger. In some instances repairs were needed now, but in most cases any repairs that are needed can easily (and safely) be put off until the summer. Having an accurate count of those summer repairs BEFORE summer starts is vital to having the laptops prepared in timely fashion during the summer weeks.
The audit process took less than 5 minute per laptop so there is NO excuse for a student declining to come in to have this done.
Additionally, please be reminded that the student tech helpers are available to assist students and teachers with ANY technical support issue. They have been briefed on how to handle most of the technical issues and are capable of handling most issues brought to them (this includes unlocking laptops and it included performing audits). Posters outlining the student helper program can be found throughout the WHS.

With this site, you can check the status on your laptop. If it's being repaired, or if it has been returned and ready for you to pick it up.
We also have instructional videos that may help you! Our videos vary from adding a printer, to making your Facebook / Skype accounts more secure to protect it from other people attempting to access it.
It is highly recommended that you create an account on here. This way if there is any
information you would like to receive about Cyber Defense or information on your laptop, you can submit a ticket with your username to get a faster response. (That, or you can
check out the Live Chat to see who's online!) You MUST set your account on here so that
you can receive e-mails. Otherwise signing up for updates / news is completely pointless.
With that said, we hope this site becomes useful for everyone! If you have any questions,
feel free to e-mail us or visit the Live Chat!

(We do not recommend bypassing the schools filter to go on Facebook. Please wait and follow these instructions when you are at home.)
